A Database Administrator is responsible for managing performance, integrity and security of computer databases; and codes, tests and implements physical databases within the Voting Tabulation, Voting Registration and Innovations/Web market segments to meet customer requirements. The DBA makes sure databases have the qualities of data remaining consistent across databases, data is clearly defined, users are able to access data concurrently in a form aligned with needs, and provides for data security and recovery. This position works to coordinate database development as part of a cross functional project team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Education: Must have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or computer technology field or comparable experience
At least 4+ years’ of experience including:
Experience with Oracle database technologies
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server versions 2012, 2014, and 2016
Experience with SQL Server Availability Groups
Strong scripting skills – bash, Power Shell
SQL Server deployments with Windows Server 2012, 2016
Backup & Recover best practices
Strong written and verbal presentation skills
Licenses/Certifications Preferred: Oracle Certified Database Professional, MCSA: SQL
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
