  • Job Description

    The Bilingual - Audio Specialist supports the Election Services department in the preparation, editing, and quality assurance activities associated with election audio production. Audio production includes processing of audio orders, coordinating audio recording sessions with qualified studio partners, proofing audio recordings against election definitions, packaging and editing of audio files while maintaining short turn-around timeframes.  The position requires exceptional attention to detail, accuracy of data conversion and quality of work product.  Well-developed skills in written and verbal communication, manage multiple, concurrent activities and prioritize a dynamic workload are essential.  This position routinely interacts with ES&S customers, vendors and functional staff to ensure the accurate and complete collection of end-to-end, election event information.


     


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



    • Document completion of various phases of audio production using proprietary database software.

    • Generate audio scripts using ES&S utility software.

    • Proofing of audio ballots, including comparison of proper names against pronunciation lists and audio scripts against the recorded audio.

    • Handle communications between the audio studios and customers for audio corrections.

    • Execute audio production with foreign languages

    • Package and deliver audio files to customers.

    • Evaluate data integrity issues, identify root cause and initiate resolution(s).

    • Provide application support for internal and external clients

    • Conduct internal product training related to data conversion technologies and processes

    • Evaluate go-forward solutions and conduct research to minimize cost

    • Other related duties may be assigned.



    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE



    • Associates Degree in computer science or business administration is preferred.

    • High school graduate required


    Computer Skills                                                   



    • Must be familiar with Windows Explorer, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Adobe Audition or similar waveform editing software required.  Will train on use of proprietary software.

    • Working knowledge of desktop recording software and process desirable


    Communication Skills                                                         



    • Must have excellent communications skills to effectively coordinate changes between customers and audio recording facilities.

    • Must have an understanding of language grammar.

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

    • Voiceover talent skills desirable but not required.


     


    TRAVEL


    Limited  < 10%.


    This position will be eligible for limited travel to individual customer locations for the provision of professional, subject matter expertise of scheduled elections.  Travel to international locations is possible.

    The physical demands of this position would equate to the demands of a typical office environment.
