  • Job Description

     

    A Specialist, Operations is responsible for managing production and serving as the liaison between multiple areas of the organization to ensure accurate and timely completion of product offerings to customers.  The Specialist, Operations would become a Subject Matter Expert in election mail, election rules, voter registration data, and ES&S propriety software.   Conceptual knowledge of data analysis and software interaction are highly desired.  The position requires exceptional attention to detail, well-developed skills in written and verbal communication, ability to manage multiple, concurrent activities and prioritize a dynamic workload are all essential.  This position routinely interacts with ES&S customers and staff to ensure collection of complete customer requirements by leveraging acquired knowledge to ask questions that will identify potential gaps in a standard questionnaire.  The position will require occasional travel to customer locations to assist in solution configuration to ensure a successful election for our customer.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

    1. Understand business process management and requirements of the customers and translating them to specific software and data requirements
    2. Document, organize and provide analysis of customer information and requirements
    3. Provide required diagnostics, training and support services to enable internal development with ES&S proprietary software products.
    4. Act as an effective communication interface between sales, production and support teams
    5. Act as an implementation project manager for new clients
    6. Evaluate data issues, identify cause and initiate resolution(s) with customer and/or production staff
    7. Must be able to select “best” solution, based on analysis of available and derived information
    8. Demonstrate good judgment and the ability to render useful decisions in a high stress environment. Realistically prioritize time and resources to manage multiple, concurrent activities
    9. Provide detailed solutions based on a high level of technical knowledge and business intelligence
    10. Provide application support for internal and external customers
    11. Conduct internal and external product training
    12. Other related duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

     

    Education:  Must have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or computer technology field

     

    Experience:          

    At least 3 -5 year’s experience including:

    Knowledge of project management leadership including resources assignments, task assignments and project status reporting

    Experience with resolution of escalated project issues

    Proficient with MS Office Suite and office communications procedures

    Knowledge of US postal operations processes preferred

     

    Competencies:    

    Technical expertise level competency in product

    Effectively interpret written material (general business correspondence, reports and customer communication) and verbal instructions, and respond to related questions from coworkers and customers.

    Communication proficiency in written and verbal information to corresponding election material.

    Problem Solving/Analytical ability/ Detail Orientation/ Precision

    Employ effective presentation skills to interact with customers, coworkers and upper management and project oneself as an expert or authority pertaining to subject matter expertise

     

    Licenses/Certifications Required:  None

    Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

     

    Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving Electro/mechanical parts and noise. This position requires travel in a variety of weather conditions.

     

    Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

     

    Travel:  Approximately <10% travel is expected.

     

    Security:  Required to consistently demonstrate adherence to all security requirements and accepted practices as contained in the current ES&S Security Policy.  Incumbents must proactively read, comprehend and adhere to all ES&S security policies, practices and procedures regarding the safety and safekeeping of co-workers, products, services and other intellectual property as defined in the ES&S New Business and Non-disclosure, or Proprietary matters, Confidential matters and Non-Competition agreements, and the current ES&S Security Policy Manual.
