Job Description

A receptionist is responsible for all aspects of the front desk duties including the operation of the multi-line telephone system and the welcoming and directing of walk in traffic including customers, vendors and visitors.  Is the primary coordinator of the distribution of daily mail within the Corporate office building.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  1. Answers incoming telephone calls, and taking the appropriate actions to ensure that the appropriate ES&S personnel calls are expeditiously routed.
  2. Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitor to appropriate personnel.
  3. Follows established security procedures with issuance of visitor badges/contractor badges
  4. Retrieve and delivers daily mail between ES&S Omaha locations.
  5. A liaison for employees to ship correspondence and packages via Postal Services and Federal Express
  6. Maintaining the professional image of the Executive and other Administrative Conference rooms for corporate meeting use.
  7. Helps to maintain the postage, printer and copy machines, with vendor assistance as necessary.
  8. Reconciles the postage meter & associates postage for accounting at month end
  9. Order and track corporate office supplies and inventory.
  10. Maintains the corporate office directory for periodic distribution
  11. Office management/contact for Building Maintenance issues
  12. Responsible to trains temp personnel on phone procedures and etiquette as well as mail procedures.
  13. Works as team player with Shared Services, Finance, HR and the administrative staff.
  14. Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. Anticipate needs and take appropriate actions to accomplish tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  15. Other duties may be assigned as needed




High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 1-year experience as a  receptionist preferable.



Familiarization with a multi-line phone system required.

Knowledge and experience with Word, Excel and Outlook



Basic office math skills

Problem Solving/Analysis

Communication proficiency

Personal effectiveness/credibility

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment:  This job operates in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers.

Travel:  Approximately <5% travel is expected.


Security:  Required to consistently demonstrate adherence to all security requirements and accepted practices as contained in the current ES&S Security Policy.  Incumbents must proactively read, comprehend and adhere to all ES&S security policies, practices and procedures regarding the safety and safekeeping of co-workers, products, services and other intellectual property as defined in the ES&S New Business and Non-disclosure, or Proprietary matters, Confidential matters and Non-Competition agreements, and the current ES&S Security Policy Manual.
