  • Job Description

    An Analyst, Business under supervision is responsible defining requirements and specifications for small, less complex products that manage elections. This position works across functions to ensure continuity in product development in alignment with customer/product goals.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Under supervision, utilize interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, surveys business process descriptions, use cases and work flows to document, validate, prioritize, trace and convey product sub-set requirements.
    2. Provide direction for business planning sessions and provides direction to ensure understanding of business goals.
    3. Assess stakeholder needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to assist in identifying business priorities and advice on options.
    4. Assist in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology. Provide factual content to feasibility study for standard development projects and enhancements and assistance in business case development (i.e., research, data collection), as needed
    5. Participate in Product Handoff and End user training sessions
    6. Keep stakeholders informed of problems, issues, and status. Manage Stakeholder's expectation.
    7. Work with development, product owners and other internal and external stakeholders to develop product subset specifications and other artifacts to define how a feature will function from a user’s perspective.
    8. Evaluate and reconcile information gathered from multiple sources, decomposes high-level information into details, abstract low-level information for general understanding and distinguish user requests from the underlying business need(s).
    9. Perform implementation reviews to validate requirements, user stories and agreed upon design provided in the functional specifications are correctly developed.
    10. Participate in project scope determination, release planning and work estimation.

    Qualifications:

     

    Education:  Must have an Associate’s or a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science related field or equivalent work experience.

     

     

    Experience:          

    At least 2 to 3 years of relevant Technical/Software development work experience including:

    Working knowledge of Microsoft application and Visio

    Experience with issue tracking and prototyping tools

    Experience with requirements management tools, creating use cases and activity programs

    Conceptual knowledge of data modeling, data base design, SQL and data Analysis preferred

    Graphic design training and/or experience preferred

    Usability engineering training and/or experience preferred

    Technical writing training and/or certification is desirable

    Preferred knowledge of SDLC tools like JIRA, Confluence & Test Rail

     

    Competencies:    

    Technical capacity to accomplish limited scope and complexity of tasks

    Problem Solving/Analysis under the guidance of supervision

    Ability to evaluate alternatives to the rules and guidelines depending on the situation

    Effectively communicates verbally and in writing

     

    Licenses/Certifications Required:  None

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

     

    Work Environment:  This job operates in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers.

    Travel:  Approximately 20% travel is expected.
