The Organizational Development Specialist leads the implementation of ES&S core initiatives that impact the engagement and retention of our employee base. This responsibility includes project management, program development, and outcome evaluation.  This individual must be adept at leading and managing a variety of simultaneous projects, which requires the talent of being able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. In addition to being organized and analytical, the individual possesses the strong business judgment needed to creatively guide the organization in engagement and retention efforts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Own the implementation, analysis, reporting, and action plans of ES&S’s engagement initiatives, including but not limited to the Associate Satisfaction Survey and Internal Customer Service Survey, and collaborate with Human Resources team to address gaps
  2. Coordinate and support the desired outcomes of ES&S’ Rewards and Recognition initiatives
  3. Collaborate with Talent Education Specialist and Manager, Organizational Development to develop, promote, administer, and assess employee development initiatives
  4. Own the communication strategy from Human Resources and facilitate the strategies around organizational communication
  5. Lead the development and execution of special events that lead to employee involvement and tie to employee engagement and retention, specifically as chair of the Employee Morale Committee
  6. Partner with external vendors to support employee engagement and retention programs and initiatives.
  7. Coach managers and individual contributors related to professional growth, including spearheading the job shadow program
  8. Be a visible and influential part of ES&S’ culture
  9. Advocate for change using strategies that honor the mission and culture of ES&S
  10. Identify and incorporate best practices and lessons learned into Company programs.
  11. Work with other departments as a representative of the Human Resources department to review, modify, or create policies, procedures, and/or processes to improve the employee experience on a company-wide basis



Education:   Bachelor’s or master’s degree in organizational development, psychology, sociology, or related field


Experience:  At least 3- 5 years experience in organizational development or related field



  • Ability to translate data to accessible information that can be used to improve performance
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with wide range of employees and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, proficiency with MS Publisher or other desktop publisher a plus
  • Proactive team player with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and effectively work in an autonomous and sometimes ambiguous environment

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment:   This job operates in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers.

Travel:  Approximately <10% travel is expected.


Security:  Required to consistently demonstrate adherence to all security requirements and accepted practices as contained in the current ES&S Security Policy.  Incumbents must proactively read, comprehend and adhere to all ES&S security policies, practices and procedures regarding the safety and safekeeping of co-workers, products, services and other intellectual property as defined in the ES&S New Business and Non-disclosure, or Proprietary matters, Confidential matters and Non-Competition agreements, and the current ES&S Security Policy Manual.
