The Director, Software Development will lead the software development activities pursuant to new product development and product enhancement, as well as manage team members responsible for development and enhancement of system applications. The incumbent must be able to communicate the details of multiple ongoing and critical development items to technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Director must collaborate across all departments to help provide scope and estimates for development projects, and must be able to provide timely information and assure development is completed within scope. The ability to manage, coach and mentor staff is essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Education: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information systems or equivalent computer technology field.
Minimum 10 years experience including:
Significant hands-on software development experience
Advanced knowledge of development methodologies applicable to current company projects.
Significant experience working with Agile and Scrum
Thorough understanding of source code control tools and processes
Thorough understanding of quality assurance processes
Thorough understanding of both structured and object-oriented languages and development techniques
Collaboration and people management skills
Communication proficiency in both technical and non-technical arenas
Licenses/Certifications Required: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) is desired.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibilities for Software Engineers and Technicians as assigned to area of focus, as well as other Software Development and Technical managers.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers.

Travel: Approximately up to 10% travel is expected.
