Job Description

A Lead Engineer, Product Infrastructure lead is responsible for creating and managing enterprise level product and development infrastructure and services. This is currently a department of one; you will be a thought leader and implementer responsible for cloud infrastructure and endpoint devices. You will be involved in designing, selecting, building, configuring, and deploying business capability through application, infrastructure & technology solutions.

You will focus on a wide range of IT infrastructure such as network, servers, storage, and Cloud, DR and business continuity.   You will be responsible for assessing internal and external client needs, discovering and defining requirements, scope, to include design and development of strategies and solutions that maximize operational efficiency and performance; while ensuring security, uptime and reliability. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

Own end-to-end delivery of infrastructure technology through the entire development lifecycle from design through transition to operational support; specifically

  1. Plan, develop, design, implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance are consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Work with internal departments and outside partners to assist with technical problem solving and other customer centric priorities. Work with Corporate IT in maintenance of Network and DNS, where applicable.
  3. Initiate and participate in internal/external security and vulnerability assessments/audit and be a liaison/SME for RFPs and product certification. 
  4. Ensure all work adheres to appropriate change management, audit and compliance protocols that is consistent with best practices and NIST/FISMA/PII framework
  5. Work cross-functionally to identify gaps and work with Application Development, Product Management, Certification and various Service departments, to implement practical and cost effective solutions.

Qualifications:

 

 

Education:  Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information systems or equivalent computer technology field.

 

Experience:          

  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in overall Infrastructure management is desired to include:
    • 2-3 years of experience in cloud engineering, specifically Microsoft Azure offering is required; High degree of technical and security experience is a must.
    • 5 Years’ experience in the design, implementation and support of a wide range of IT infrastructure systems in a mission critical environment within a system administrator or architect role in ground up builds that leverages IAAS and PAAS.
  • Strong knowledge of IP Networking including VPC's, VPN's, VRF, DNS, load-balancing, and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of NIST/PCI/PII policy creation, management and governance is highly desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to influence non-technical stakeholders.
  • Able to deal with busy, high pressure situations, a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated experience in automating production cloud workloads and solutions with cloud orchestration tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile practices, with DevOps focus.
  • Working knowledge of NIST and NIST policy framework is highly desired.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment:  This job operates in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers.

Travel:  Up to 10% travel is anticipated.
